SOME INFORMATION ABOUT ME . . .
I am a native Atlantan who grew up in the East Atlanta Community. I received my Associate of Arts degree, majoring in Vocal Music Performance, from Reinhardt College in Waleska, Georgia. I completed my Bachelor of Arts and Master of Education degrees at Georgia State University in Atlanta. I am certified in K - 8th grades with ESOL and Gifted Endorsements. Now in my 22st year of teaching, I have been a Kindergarten parapro and have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th grades, as well as ESOL Summer School, ESOL Clusters, and Gifted Clusters.
I live in Gwinnett County and have two adult children. My daughter, age 27, is a music teacher in Alabama. My son, age 23, is an actor in New York City. In this age of technology, I am so grateful for all the ways I am able to stay in touch with them on a frequent basis. I also have a cat (Smokey) and a tropical parrot (Lulu). In addition to my career as an educator, my hobbies are participating in music and musical productions for charity, sailing and boating of all types, including sailboat racing, as well as walking, and biking. I am the co-chair of the Duluth Fall Festival Parade and coordinate the convertibles for the parade VIP entrants, such as the Grand Marshal, mayor, city council, and state and local representatives.
I am excited about this school year! Feel free to email me with any questions, concerns, and absence notes. You may also send handwritten notes, but emailing me is the quickest way to be sure I will get your message. Thank you for allowing me the privilege of knowing and teaching your child! I look forward to working with you this year as a team for your child's education and development.
